Ty Anderson: Soderberg, Bruins answer Oil in third for 5-2 win

Good writeup. Fairly evenly matched until the 3rd, where Boston's experience showed with aplomb. I think you may have even exaggerated the degree to which Boston was in trouble this game.

As a fan of team who's benefited at least three times from an "intent to blow" rationale on disallowed goals, I still think that rule is a crock. They must review it at year's end.

From an oilers perspective, you wish you had Taylor Hall in the lineup, but in a way his injury gives you a golden opportunity to appraise who's really going for it in his absence, and who's along for the ride - and for those guys, it's probably time to get off.

On the forward front, I liked Nuge and Perron as you mentioned, but I also liked Yakupov's game and felt he made some smart decisions. I look a guy like Marchand and as much as I hate him, I see him as a great template for Yakupov if he can channel his darkside. Yak's phenomenal skating and shot + his effortless quality of getting people to hate him + a real meanstreak could offer a really useful player to a team like Edmonton that's often lacking vigour.

So which one of Morrow and Warsofsky gets an extended tryout once everyone's healthy? They are both WAY better than Bart.... Barts NHL career may be in trouble

I'm no Chara hater but I honestly think the teams done much better since handing Dougie the reigns. Big Z will be playing 2nd fiddle to Dougie when he gets back, and that's a good thing for everyone, especially Z

That'll be him this offseason

I doubt he's a Bruin next year. This is his only chance to cash in... He's getting 5m+

The outlook isn't that bad. Iginla's bonus will be gone, you let Campbell, McQuaid, Bartkowski and Gagne walk. Paille is not expensive, Svedberg shouldn't be expensive shouldn't be longer than a 1 year deal and Fraser shouldn't cost a fortune either. You have Krug, Smith, Hamilton and Soderberg to sign. Everyone else is locked up and the cap is going up. Look for yourself...

Definitely Morrow, can't take him out of the lineup right now. Once Krug is back I think Warsofsky will head back to Providence. Really like what I'm seeing out of Morrow and Griffith. Both guys are making plays with confidence and making smart plays. Two staples that the Bruins organization should reward once everyone is healthy. I think Morrow coming along with allow Miller to get his should to as close to 100% as possible before coming back.

He obviously just got lucky. Just like he got "lucky" the kessel return was so good, and "lucky" that Reilly Smith is really good. Its only a matter of time before people talk about how "lucky" he is that the young D is picking up the slack

Lucky that Hamilton "worked out". Personally I would have extended Redden.
